Cultural Competence in Juvenile Probation

Concrete Flowers LLC has been invited by the Cook County Juvenile Court to present at an all-staff symposium alongside young leaders, Damareus Jackson (Kentucky) and Pray’Eon Jackson (Oklahoma) .

Juvenile probation officers in Cook County work primarily with Black and Brown youth from Chicago’s inner-city communities. Building cultural competence helps officers make better decisions, foster positive relationships, and support successful rehabilitation.

By understanding and respecting cultural differences, officers can encourage positive behavior and contribute to more equitable outcomes within the juvenile justice system.
